Proposal – Design and construct a giant ‘Eye’ cloth (25m diameter) to cover a large section of an island in Sydney Harbour for the Sydney Festival Opening Ceremony.

Challenge – We had a short timeframe and needed a large amount of fabric suitable for outdoor use.  Providing appropriate artwork on such a large cloth, manageability of huge cloth.

Solution – Theatre Star IFR Flexicloth was selected for its wide width and durability. A suitable 2 piece design was created for manageability both in the workshop and on site. The Scenic Artists did an amazing job.

Outcome – A unique and amazing cloth which was a highlight of the Sydney Festival Vigil on Sydney Harbour. Watched and enjoyed by thousands.
