Proposal – Transform a large old venue into a modern, functional, multi-use entertainment venue, by installing large perimeter curtains, including supporting box  truss and heavy-duty tracking.

Process – After many site meetings and discussions with the client, the Theatre Star team provided conceptual drawings to outline our proposed layout.

We consulted with our rigging team and ensured that engineering reports were obtained to ensure the structural integrity of the venue and its ability to safely support the new curtains.

Challenges – Dealing with a sloping and undulating floor required that most of the drapes had differing lengths and sequential positions. All custom drapes and truss borders were manufactured in a challenging timeframe to ensure completion prior to a major function in the venue.

Solutions – Theatre Star black Infinity IFR Wool was selected for its acoustic and blackout qualities and it’s durability. 

The truss and track layout allows for the drapes to be positioned around the inner walls of the venue when in function mode, or easily moved into storage areas when not required.

Outcome – The new theatre Star drapes are a visually stunning improvement to the venue, creating an intimate and theatrical atmosphere whilst also blocking external light and improving the acoustics.

The venue now has fully compliant drapes which will NEVER require any expensive treatments for flame retardancy.
